How long have you been a Qualified Personal Trainer for?I’ve been a Qualified Trainer for 4.5 years.
Why did you become a Personal Trainer?Like many it was an evolution, I’d played professional rugby and fitness/training became my new passion once the finished. From there I developed my knowledge and that became another driving passion in helping others do the same.
What has your career looked like since becoming a Qualified Personal Trainer?For me personally, very different I was in an office for years. I now have been lucky enough to travel the country and to other countries sharing my fitness story and that of others.
What do you love the most about your job?Obviously seeing the results for clients, the self satisfaction confidence the breeds. I can not only see their body change but there entire life in a positive way.
What other qualifications have you obtained since becoming a Personal Trainer?Qualification are still quite basic, if I’m training elite or beginner clients, for me the principles are the same. I have been lucky enough to be trained or train with some of the top coaches and athletes in the world eg Steve Cook, Neil Yoda Hill, Zac Smith and Callum Von Moger, to name a few each with their unique approach to training and nutrition.
What does a ‘day in the life’ of your job look like?Based on my training I typically have my online clients updates and check-in in the am of the day. The afternoon I’ll training and conduct some one on ones. This is quite flexible.
Are you involved in anything else relating to the health and fitness industry/Personal Training?I compete in Competitive shows, which also takes me around the globe meeting trainers, clients and other athletes at different stages throughout the year.
Education and know if the most powerful tools you have, reputation in the industry will help you as well. Practice what you preach, you are a reflection of the service / product you are selling.
