Not at all, the 11046NAT – Certificate IV in Nutrition is an entry-level course and a stand-alone qualification.

Whether you’re adding to an existing skill set or starting a new one, we have no expectation of prior learning in the area.

This course builds on your knowledge of all aspects of health and wellness with every unit of study.

The course then dives head-first into the inner workings of the human body. The fundamentals of biology, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology are explored to give students a thorough understanding of the many processes and systems ultimately affected by the foods we eat.

The role, function, and chemical makeup of macronutrients and micronutrients are covered in detail. The various food sources contain all of these nutrients and what conditions can arise with dieting nutrient deficiencies. This information is also presented to easily apply what they are learning to meet their client’s needs and goals.

The recommended intake for each nutrient is outlined before understanding how the body absorbs, utilises and processes nutrients.

One of the best parts of this course is the practical application it provides: students are taken through a step-by-step process of how to develop tailored nutrition plans considering all aspects of their individual clients and are taught how to monitor, analyse and modify these plans based on changing client needs and progress.

Digestive health and psychology: two critical considerations for your clients and two whole units dedicated to these subjects. Gain a comprehensive understanding of digestive health, why it’s important, and how nutrition affects the mind.

We find most students choose to start up their own consultation business within this field, so they aren’t restricted in who they see. Many graduates will also work from local allied health facilities, gyms and even beauty salons. Most businesses like this have rooms you can rent to serve a mutual benefit to you and their business.

Ensuring you have the correct insurance policy cover is critical in business. Nutrition Council Australia has created an Allied Health Professional Indemnity / Public Liability insurance policy with AON Insurance.

This insurance allows graduates to legally practise as Nutritionists under the Nutrition Council Australia Scope of Practice in their Nutritionist business. Nutritionists work with clients to identify their specific needs and goals and provide them with detailed nutritional advice and individually tailored meal plans to assist the client in achieving those needs and goals.

AON INSURANCE POLICY

Most students looking to go to university plan to study Nutrition and major in the Dietetics pathway. This enables them to work with patients who may be pregnant, have food intolerances, chronic disease or are diagnosed with an illness.

If you’re looking to improve results for your Health and Wellness Coaching or Personal Training clients or work with the generally otherwise healthy population, the Certificate IV in Nutrition would be perfect for you. You will provide nutritional support, including meal plans, macro and micronutrient support, gut health advice and much more.

If treating pregnant patients or those with intolerances, chronic illness, or disease is your career goal, finding a suitable university to undertake the 4 – 5 years of study is what you require.

The 11046NAT – Certificate IV in Nutrition is Australia’s only nationally accredited and recognised Certificate IV that will qualify you as a Nationally recognised Nutritionist with Nutrition Council Australia.

This means we teach practical applications, not just how to use a pre-built calculator and meal plan generator. You are taken through a step-by-step process of developing tailored nutrition plans considering all aspects of clients individual needs and taught how to monitor, analyse and modify these plans based on changing client needs and progress.

If you want a course that will provide an education that expands further than using a diet software system, then the 11046NAT- Certificate IV in Nutrition is right for you.

More importantly, choosing a non-accredited course could impact your career goals and leave you without the education and insurance you required.

We offer Live Virtual Support 6 days per week. This means one of our assessors is live on Zoom each day, ready to answer your questions in a face to face setting.

Our Live Virtual Support allows you to ask as many questions as you like without booking an appointment. Join the zoom meeting, get the help you require and continue with your study.

If you are studying late at night and have questions, you message your Personal Assessor, who will answer within a 48hr response time.

Having a Personal Assessor means you always know who is getting back and marking your work throughout your study.

All staff at Vast Fitness Academy are employed on a full-time basis.

We do not use sub-contractors to assess your work.

Your Personal Assessor is dedicated to your success and is University Qualified Dietitian or Nutritionist. This sets us apart from other course providers and ensures our students receive the highest level of support and guidance possible.

We are very intentional with how we reach out to our students and provide quality feedback regarding your submissions throughout your studies. Our portal allows you to directly message your Assessor so that you can ask as many questions as you like! In fact, our Assessors actually prefer if their students are messaging them asking for assistance rather than keeping to themselves.
