1. WASH YOUR HANDS
Wash your hands – yes, you’ve heard it a thousand times, but the virus can live up to 9 days on hard and metal surfaces, so washing your hands to prevent contamination is paramount. * Use alcohol-based hand soap/sanitiser where possible.2. COVER YOUR MOUTH
When coughing or sneezing cover your mouth and nose with a tissue (or elbow), then throw the tissue in the bin and wash your hands.3. KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM YOUR FACE
As much as possible, refrain from touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands as this is how the virus enters the body.4. DISTANCE YOURSELF
The phrase ‘social distancing’ has been tossed around lately, but what does this mean? Maintain at least a 1 metre distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing and sneezing. This becomes increasingly difficult in public areas, which is why some are opting to remain indoors.5. TRY TO AVOID CONTACT WITH OTHERS
Avoid contact when greeting others – even those you know and trust! As previously mentioned, the virus can stay active on hard surfaces which means you are exposing yourself to any hard surfaces the other individual has been in contact with. *Alternatively, wash your hands after physical contact, before you eat, or before you touch your face. For more information, visit the World Health Organisations website by CLICKING HERE.
